“Infestation” is a science fiction horror film released in 2009. The plot revolves around the main character Cooper, who suddenly finds himself in a world full of gigantic, insect-like creatures. Together with a small group of survivors, he must fight against these mutated creatures while finding a way to solve the mystery of their creation.

One of the film’s zany ideas is the fact that the creatures in the story are giant man-eating insects. There are giant ants, wasps and cockroaches that populate the streets and threaten humanity. This idea alone is already unusual, but the film goes further and shows how humans fight against these unusual enemies.
Another crazy idea of the film is the fact that Cooper and his comrades-in-arms try to defeat the insects with unusual weapons. They make improvised weapons out of everyday objects like batons and hairspray flamethrowers to fight off the giant creatures. This leads to some bizarre and comical moments as the group desperately tries to stand up to the overpowering opponents.
In addition, the film is also known for its black humour. The dialogues between the characters are often sarcastic and ironic, which gives the film a certain lightness, although the threat of the insects is omnipresent.
